In 2010, the Southern Cape event is moving forward to JULY (previously September). The Northern Cape event remains in AUGUST.
Both events are Saturday dates, four weeks apart to help our customers attend either or both Capes Long Lunch events without affecting the working week.
To be the long lunch our name proclaims, Capes Long Lunch runs for 7 fabulous hours from 11:30am - 6:30pm. This allows approximately 1¼ hours at each food venue and up to an hour at each wine stop throughout the day, with approximately two fun filled hours at the "finale" venue. Please Note: Bus Pickups & Returns are outside these times.
Following last year's success, all buses will again come together at a "finale" venue with live music and beer!

Both events will follow the same format:
Board a bus at one of our prearranged pickup points and visit several fantastic venues specially chosen for their warm friendly welcome. You'll taste 4 or so of each venue's showcase wines then enjoy a glass of your preferred wine. There's the promise of delicious foods throughout the day with all buses coming together at a finale venue featuring live music and beer!

Once you book, we will send you a Booking Confirmation to the email address you nominated, together with the details of your Bus Pickup Location and Time. Please print this email Booking Confirmation and bring it with you.
Your beverage vouchers will be handed to you personally on the day, as you arrive at each venue.

Start the day with a good breakfast. It is a long lunch event but there is also be lots of wonderful wine to enjoy and responsible service of alcohol rules do apply (please see Note below).

The grounds boast a 1,000 bush rose garden and two spectacular sculptures. As you approach the entrance you will notice "The Garden of Eden" tree with its one tempting apple. In the middle of our lake suspended on a 14metre pole you will see "free as a bird". This amazing 3 metre lady is finished in 24ct gold leaf and represents the freedom and opportunities that this great country affords all of us.
Tasting are offered by a way of two tasting trays, at a minimal cost with complimentary nibbles. Patrons are encouraged to sit at a table with their trays and relax and enjoy the ambience of the magnificent surrounding and the background music.

Established in 1976, Clairault Wines was the sixth property to plant vines and remains one of the oldest privately owned vineyard estates within the premier Wilyabrup sub-appellation of the Margaret River Wine Region. Owned by the Martin family since 1999, there have been many improvements and upgrades at Clairault over this time.
In the Vineyard, which is managed by youngest son Brian Martin, this has involved the introduction of biological farming, low intervention approach, investment into mature vine management and the development of the vineyard from 30 to 120 acres. These environmentally responsible vineyard management practices will enable Clairault to practice Sustainable Farming for the Future.
The magnificently restored, heritage-listed Caves House Hotel is situated a short walk to Yallingup Beach, in the heart of the Margaret River wine region, a 2½ hour drive south of Perth. Originally established in 1905, this iconic property is set in 4.5 hectares of beautiful manicured gardens, adjacent to Seashells Yallingup.
